Coffee…Hazelnut…Vanilla…Chocolate. Mix these four things together in a perfect ratio and you end up with Cafe Godiva’s Hazelnut Ground Arabica Coffee. An argument could be made that the mind-blowing aroma is enough to splurge on this delicious treat; luckily that’s not the only reason to consider this blend. I’m a little ashamed that I didn’t know Godiva produced coffees! This Chocolatier company has been creating some of the most quality chocolates since the early 20th century. The quality shines through in their coffee products as well.
Before going any further, I have to mention why this is only a 7.9/10 instead of a higher score. The reason is simply the price. I try to make most of the coffees on this site affordable as well as quality. This, unfortunately, only fits one of those criteria. But I wouldn’t rule this one out just because of the price.
Godiva’s Arabica beans are precision ground and tightly sealed to ensure the freshest quality. The moment I opened the bag I was shocked by the aroma. It is simply incredible. There’s definitely a scent similar to how a lot of their chocolate bars smell, but a strong vanilla coffee mixed with it to produce something extraordinary.
The flavor did not disappoint either. Unlike many hazelnut coffees, the hazelnut was not overpowering; it was just enough to accent the overall taste and add to the flavor. Honestly, to me, it had a more vanilla taste. The body is full and smooth which gives it a buttery consistency. It’s well balanced, not too acidic, and has a wonderful long-lasting aftertaste that is just as incredible as the first sip.
While I can’t say this is going to be a coffee I regularly get due to its higher premium, I can definitely see myself getting this as a gift to other coffee lovers or as a treat for special occasions. Please do yourself a favor and try this one at least once!!
